Poker Stars.net is promoting a new high-stakes cash game will be shown on national TV. Called the Pokerstars.net Big Game, it will feature regular poker players from all walks of life playing against some of the big-name poker players that we’ve all become familiar with.
Your goal is to be selected as a Loose Cannon because if you are, you’ll be sent to Las Vegas to play against poker players like Daniel Negreanu and Vanessa Rousso. It will be taped for a television show.

Do that and you’ll be asked to send in a casting video, making a case for why you should be included in the show’s broadcast as a Loose Cannon. It’s true there are several steps you have to take before you will be cast in the show, but PokerStars says there’s a good reason for this.
“Getting there is going to be a battle, but that’s because we only want the best player,” says the contest description at Pokerstars.net. “This is your chance to prove you have the patience, desire and skill to hold your own and be tested to the max.”
Best of all, if you do get a spot at the table in Las Vegas, Poker Stars.net provides $100,000 to play with. You get to keep any profits you make.

In an effort to give relief help to the people of Haiti Poker Stars is setting up accounts for online donations. Poker Stars has three methods for donating online, and any money donated to Haiti will be matched by Poker Stars. So far the total player donations accumulated on Poker Stars stands at over $400,000. All the money will be given to the Red Cross so please help contribute to the relief effort in Haiti.
Method 1 – Using the transfer tool in the Poker Stars lobby, transfer funds to the account ‘haiti fund.’
Method 2 – Go to the special tournaments section in the Poker Stars lobby and look for the ‘dummy’ tournaments. These are not real tournaments, but the allow you to publicly show your support for the people of haiti.
Method 3 – Go to the VIP store and purchase a donation. There are different amounts so please give what you can.

A retired police detective who was a first responder to the World Trade Center on 9/11 won $1 million in the Pokerstars.net Million Dollar Challenge television show. He beat poker star Daniel Negreanu for the big prize.
