The final round two tournament kicks off on February 21 and that tournament is followed by a last chance tournament going on later that day. 56 of the top finishers from the round two tournament and 8 players from the last chance tournament will win seats to the Grand Final.

The Grand Final will take place the following day on February 22, and the top two finishers from this tournament will win a prize package that includes a seat in the National Heads-Up Poker Championship. Peter Eastgate has won the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event and is now part of team Poker Stars.net. Peter Eastgate lasted a field of over 5000 players. He is now the youngest player to ever win the world series of poker main event at the age of 22. Beating the previous record of 24 held by Phil Hellmuth.

The final table was delayed 3 months and was later dubbed the “november nine” after the nine players waited for November 11th when play would be resumed. Peter Eastgate had 4-1 odds going into the final table but was able to pull off the victory against Ivan Demidov and took home $9,152,416 for his efforts.
