Poker Stars – Million Dollar Challenge

Poker Stars latest promotion, the Million Dollar Challenge, gives players a once in a lifetime chance to compete heads up against team Poker Stars pro Daniel Negreanu. The first prize winner will get the opportunity to compete against Daniel on TV for a chance at winning up to $1,000,000.

The best part about this promotion is that it cost no money to enter. To become qualified, all you need to do is play in one of the daily Million Dollar Challenge freerolls (tournaments run four times per day) and finish in the top ten. The top ten winners will then need to submit a two minute video where they can make a claim for why they should be chosen to star in the new poker show.

Any player lucky enough to be chosen will get sent to the TV studio along with two friends, where he or she will get to compete in a series of heads up matches against team Poker Stars pros and other celebrity poker players for large chunks of money.  To help you advance, Daniel Negreanu will also be offering player’s expert advice along the way.

$300,000 Reload Freerolls

When it comes to promotions, nobody offers you a better chance to win free money than Poker Stars. All June long Poker Stars will hosts five freerolls a day, giving players the chance to win hundreds of cash prizes. A total of $300,000 will be given away by the end of the month, all in freeroll prizes.

To be eligible for the reload freerolls all you need to do is reload money into  your account and then you automatically quilify to participate in as many freerolls as you wish. The best way to find freeroll tournaments is to type “Reload” into the tourney filter, or to go to the Poker Stars loby and select “tourney” and then “freeroll”.

Poker Stars 2009 WSOP Satellites

Poker Stars wants to send you to the 2009 WSOP Main Event. They are currently running satellites and it is estimated that they will end up sending over 1500 players!

Poker Stars has many different ways for players to win their seat. Players can play MTT (multi table touraments) with buy-in’s for as low as $2 and work their way up to a $12k package including a seat to the Main Event.

There are also the popular steps poker tournaments where players start at Step 1 for 7.50 cents and work their way up to Step 6 where a player will receive packages to the WSOP and 5 other spots pay!

The last way to qualify at Poker Stars is using Frequent Player Points (FPP) and play in the daily tournaments that cost as little as 40 FPP.

To celebrate the six Poker Stars players who made it to the final table of the World Series Of Poker (WSOP), PokerStars.net is throwing daily freerolls where participants will have the chance to go up against the 6th WSOP finalists and take home as much as $100,000 for first place. The daily freerolls start September 27 and will continue until October 17. The big prizes will be rewarded to anyone who can make it to the final table, but for those less fortunates numerous other cash prizes are dished out along the way.

The WCOOP is back

This September the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is coming back to Poker Stars.net. The WCOOP is the worlds largest online poker series, and this year it is bigger than ever. Doubling last years prize pool, the 2008 WCCOP will offer a prize pool of $30,000,000 guaranteed.

Starting September 5th and ending with the main event on September 22nd, the WCOOP will host 33 different events and a wide range of poker games. Although tournaments don’t official start until the fifth, Poker Stars players can try to earn their spots in WCOOP qualifying satellites. Cash qualifiers start at as low as $2.20, and players using FPP can enter a satellite for as low as 100 Frequent Player Points.

Negreanu and Greenstein in Top Three for POY

Poker Star’s pros Daniel Negreanu and Barry Greenstein are currently second and third on the World Series of Poker player of the year chart. Daniel Negreanu is in second with 170 points, 15 points behind leader Eick Lindgren, with one braclet and 4 cashes. Just below him Barry Greenstein has 165 points with one braclet and 3 cashes. Together the two players have combined for a total of $769,001 WSOP earnings.

Poker Stars Battle of the Planets

Poker Stars has launched a new sit and go promotion called “Battle of the Planets”. This marks the first time Poker Stars.net will have a SNG Tournament Leader board. Players can participate in the Battle of the Planets with buy-ins as low as $2 dollars or if your a big money player up to $500.

There are 8 different “planetary” divisions for the SNG Leader board…In english that means there are eight leader boards players can compete in with prizes from $3k-$10k.

In this clip Negreanu loses the hand, but is able to get a good enough read to get out before it is too late and save chips. Even in losing the hand Daniel looks like the winner when he tells his apponent what he has without seeing the cards.
