Poker Stars ran the largest tournament last Sunday breaking the previous record by 30,000 players! The tournament was a $1 buy-in and was announced last Friday and registration in less then 24 hours had reached more then 35,000 players (the previous world record).

The tournament had 65,000 entrants and each player started with 2,000 chips. In less then ten hours 004 license took down the record breaking tournament lasting the biggest online tournament field and taking home $13,000 dollars for his accomplishment.

Poker Stars doubled the prize pool of the tournament to $130,000 and paid more then 16k players!

Poker Stars held the record before the tournament but was challenged by Full Tilt Poker and decided they would go over the top and make sure they would keep the record.
